Better late than never

Carnival picture: January. Lots of bad things happened this month, specifically my grandfather lost to his battle with lung cancer. RIP 'buelo

Rivers in Crate picture(february) : Literally after my grandfather's funeral my cat got very sick. UTI's, bloody, stones in his little body and fear he might get worse being that he's only 2 years old! I thought cats were healthier than dogs!

Mia my choco-lab(march), Celebrated her 10th bday. Isn't she cute?

Cousin's head covered in flour(April): Easter in a Hispanic family is spent with lots of cascarones. And the first time in four years I've been here to crack some eggs. Other than breakfast of course :)

Bowling scores(May): A thousand of my family members and I all went bowling for my b-day. Clearly I got the high score! (disregard my gutterball 0 in my first set, I still won later!)

Graduation cap(june) my little cousin...okay, not so little anymore... graduated from high school. I still remember when that kid was still in my aunt's tummy! She left to college a few days ago. I feel so old now that she's all grown up ;(

2010

New Year's Eve was spent with family at my cousin's house. We all stuffed our faces with Turkey & pie. Can't believe 2010 is here! It feels like Y2K was just yesterday. Not sure if these count as resolutions since they aren't crazy serious ones

1. Practice French & Japanese more.
2. Take MORE photos
3. Pay off as much of my loans as possible & budget my money.
4. Spend more time with loved ones
5. Cook a lot of new dishes!
6. Post in this blog more often (which would help the 2nd resolution.)

I found that one of the rosebushes had sprouted a beautiful pink rose. Also, found some already withered away roses. I cut this one off & took it inside.

Tonight, big family dinner.

decisions, decisions

This day was so hectic.

First off, My border collie and Mia my lab ran away. Little cousin noticed they weren't in the front yard then she saw our gates WIDE OPEN! I don't know how they opened them or if someone walking by opened them on purpose. I drove through like all the neighborhoods in my area and people said they saw them running around. Finally, after about 40 minutes of driving in circles I went back to my neighborhood and found them in my neighbors yard looking for food. I had to bribe them with treats to get them back into our yard.

Also, took Mia to get her stitches removed. Found out the tumor they took out last week was a stage 3 tumor :( We are contemplating chemotherapy but the side effects sound really risky. I still feel awful about putting my other dog through a different surgery that took a toll on her and eventually ended her life.

Wish I could win the lottery... it would make the costs of $100 weekly treatment way easier to decide.

The days all seem to flow right into the next.

My cousin who is really sick is going to have a raffle to help him with his medical bills & because he took leave off of work. They are going to raffle off a couple of flatscreen tvs, ipods, and blu ray players.

I have a few appointments this week:
-get cavity filled
-take Mia to get her stitches removed

Little cousin is leaving this week. Last week, my cousin, her baby daddy, and her son went with us bowling. It was a lot of fun. I won! 3 strikes in a row. I was running late because I couldn't find my bowling shoes in my closet! Yep, I have my own pair. :)

H E A T

My little cousin is still here with me. She will be here for a few weeks. Hopefully, I can keep her entertained that long.

I took little Holden to the Vet to get all his annual vaccines. He was a bad boy to get into the car. He turned into stone every time I tried getting him in there. He almost tried running into the traffic when he jumped out of my car. He weighs 41lbs which is weird because he looks so skinny.

My backyard is getting brutalized by the scorching Texas heat. There are patches of yellow and dead grass in like a 40sq foot area. I put miracle gro and hopefully before the end of the summer it won't look dead anymore.

recovery

Mia had to have surgery yesterday. The Dr. took a sample of the bump and it was another mast cell tumor. I found an article online about a new drug, Palladia, that is suppose to help dogs who get these tumors. She is doing well and seems like her usual self. I might go to my little cousins birthday party but I'm still not sure.

My older cousin, just had surgery this morning. He is really sick. He's at M.D. Anderson & we're all really worried. Hopefully, everything will be treatable.
